Department of Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics offers an array of classes for students across the university whose degree programs include a math requirement. For a student who wishes to major in math, the department offers two-degree programs (BA and BS) to prepare majors for success in graduate school or for mathematical careers in business and industry. A teacher certification track is also offered for students who aspire to be high school math teachers. Students find the department’s programs exciting because the curriculums provide an excellent education in one of the most powerful and practical majors available, and they receive that education in small and personalized classes. The student-focused learning environment of Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s math courses promotes student involvement and allows for close interaction with the faculty.
I moved 1,800 miles from Elko, Nevada, to come to school at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, and I wasn't sure what to expect. My professors and classmates turned out to be exactly the kind of support system I needed. My professors have been encouraging and taken a genuine interest in my success and well-being. I can't imagine having spent my college years anywhere else.
