The Role of the Student
We accept our role in a learner-centered community and commit to cultivating the virtues of a lifelong learner.
We believe that:
- Learning is primary at Â鶹ÊÓƵ
- We can and should improve as students
- Our academic success is dependent upon our effort
- We should enthusiastically embrace the instructional methods and approaches chosen by our professors
The Role of the Faculty
We recognize that our role is twofold: (1) being highly knowledgeable in our field and (2) being dedicated to implementing instruction that promotes successful student learning.
We believe that:
- Teaching is primary at Â鶹ÊÓƵ
- How we teach impacts student learning
- We can and should improve as professionals
- We should use instructional methods and approaches recognized as best practices in our disciplines
The Role of the Administration
We recognize that our role is to create and promote an environment in which excellent teaching and optimal student learning can occur.
We believe that:
- Teaching and learning are primary at Â鶹ÊÓƵ
- Administrative decisions make a difference in the learning environment
- We can and should improve the environment for learning
- It is our responsibility to provide the resources and rewards necessary to fulfill the Learning Covenant
