Dr. Heather Barrett joined the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor family in June 2020 as an Assistant Professor in the Master of Science in Physician Assistant (MSPA) Program and currently serves as the Clinical Director for the MSPA Program.
Dr. Barrett earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas Tech University and then continued her education at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where she earned a Master of Physician Assistant Studies. Driven by a passion for continuous learning and advancement, she later completed her Doctor of Medical Science degree in 2022 from the University of Lynchburg.
Within the MSPA Program, Dr. Barrett teaches courses in the Humanities, Ethics, Altruism, and Leadership series, as well as, Clinical Preparation, Graduation Preparation, and is the course director for several clinical rotations.
She and her husband, Bryan, have three children: Brynn, Ellery, and Brooks. Her family attends Vista Community Church in Temple, Texas.
