My research revolves primarily around two broad objectives: 1. To examine the perceptual and cognitive skills involved in Major League Baseball (MLB) umpire ball--strike judgments and decisions, and 2. To develop statistical methodologies and computing processes for analyzing and visualizing MLB pitch-level data.

We have a daughter named Rhett Elisabeth, born in December 2013 and a son named Keller Ellis, born in April 2016.
